Dear Birth Mother and Birth Family,

Hi there!  We are Ben and Rachel.  Before we tell you a little about us and why we are here, we want you to know that we can’t begin to understand how you feel right now.  Choosing a family for your child is a brave, courageous thing to do and you have our utmost respect.  We pray for you and your unborn child daily.  We pray that God will guide your decision to find a better life for your precious baby.

We were both born and raised in NE Oklahoma and we met at college over 10 years ago.  We are incredibly blessed with great jobs, a beautiful home, and the most amazing support system of family and friends that anyone could ask for.  Seriously, they’re the best!  It’s because of them that we made it through one of the hardest times in our lives – infertility.  We found out in 2015 that the chances of having children was slim to none.  Our world was rocked and our faith was tested, but we held tight to the promise of God that someday, we would have children.  We weren’t in a rush and we wanted to make sure we carefully chose the path God has destined for us.  This year, the pieces fell into place quickly and miraculously, and here we are.  We are so, so ready mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially to open our hearts and our home to your child.  Our child.  We are eager to share this bond and this experience with you, however you are comfortable doing so.

Since we have no children currently, we are so excited to see how life changes.  Ben is a teacher, so he will have all the school breaks – spring, summer, fall and winter!  Rachel’s employer is a family friendly, Christian organization and they understand the importance of quality family time.  She will have 3 full months of maternity leave to welcome the baby home.  Ben will also spend several weeks at home at that time.  And do you remember what we said about our amazing support system?  Well, Rachel’s mom plans to retire shortly after baby arrives and will keep him or her while we are at work!  Rachel’s mom has a sweet, nurturing spirit and children and babies have always been drawn to her.  We are confident that outside of Ben or Rachel staying home full time, this is the next best thing.

We plan to stay rooted where we are for quite some time, so we think it is important to tell you a little about where we live.  Our home has 3 bedrooms and is nestled in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood.  There is a neighborhood park within walking distance.  The public school system is one of the best in Oklahoma and there are so many opportunities for a variety of activities as our child grows up, from sports to dance to theater – you name it.  Rachel’s family is within a 10 minute drive and Ben’s family is about 45 minutes away.

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter.  We hope and pray that you find peace and comfort in your placement journey.  Although you may not raise your child, you are still making the most important decision of his or her life.
