Hello Expectant Parents,

We hope our letter finds you well.

Our names are Caroline and Felix. It has taken us months to write this letter to you. The truth is, we weren’t sure how to say what we wanted to say. What if we said the wrong thing and it put you off? What if we didn’t say enough? All these are thoughts that we have struggled with.

So right now, it’s a Tuesday evening, Felix just got home from work and I’ve been home sleeping – mostly because I have a couple days off from my night work shifts. The T.V. is on … Felix likes watching CNN channel to catch up on the latest news. I, on the other hand, would be quite content if there was no news to be heard or watched ever 😊. I think we balance each other out well.

I work as a labor and delivery Registered Nurse at HealthPlex, and I love my job. I often tell my patients that I would work for free if I had to, hoping that they don’t tell my Manager 😊. There’s nothing like being a part of the miracle of new life day in and day out. In the beginning I thought doing this as a job would be difficult because when I first started, we were struggling with infertility. However, it has proven to be the one place where I find my greatest joy. Being a part of my patients’ happiest and, sometimes, saddest moments is what I was born to do. I am also a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), caring for women who have experienced Sexual or Domestic trauma. I collect evidence, treat their injuries and provide needed care and resources. This has not been easy but, with some grace, I have been able to do it and for that I am grateful.

Felix works in administration at the University of Oklahoma where he oversees functions of the Office of Academic Assessment. He is passionate about his job and I love hearing him talk about his workday. He is so committed to improving students learning that if everyone had his passion I think we would have more students passionate about their goals during and after college.

Besides work, we enjoy cooking, entertaining, travelling, gardening and home projects. Felix enjoys working on woodwork projects during his free times. He recently built raised gardens on our backyard where we’ve planted some spinach, kale and herbs. He is very organized and great at planning. This is one of the things I loved about him when we first met. I had flown from Iowa where I was going to college, to Washington DC where he was attending college, to visit him for the first time. He had made plans for the best places to eat, best entertainment spots and best theme parks because he knew I loved rides and roller coasters. It was the best first date.

I remember as we drove to King’s Dominion Theme Park in Virginia, Felix sang along to a Whitney Houston song, singing to me. That’s when I knew that this was the man I would marry. So, when he proposed five months later, I said yes, and fifteen years later he’s still the one I want to wake up next to.

We have always dreamed about being parents and having a child to raise in a loving home! We are very excited to be adopting and have so much love to share for this child as we expand our family. Please know that we will always unconditionally love and cherish your child, and we will make sure that he/she will be proud to be adopted. We hope our profile gives you a close look at our lives.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Caroline & Felix
