Hello!

We are honored that you’re reading this letter and considering us to parent your child. The weight of this letter and the process you’re going through is not lost on us and we know our words could never do it justice. While we don’t know the details of your story, we believe that you are incredibly brave. Creating an adoption plan is the most selfless act of love we can imagine. So we pray that you feel the comfort of our Heavenly Father and a sense of peace when you find the perfect fit for you and your little one.

Our names are Clayton and Whitney. Clayton works at a local church helping createapps and software to give away to other churches all over the world to help them grow their ministries. Whitney is a stay-at-home mom and she teaches childbirth classes one night a week in our living room. We met in 2008 while Whitney was attending Oklahoma University through mutual friends. We were crazy about each other pretty quickly and began dating not long after.

Clayton was still living in North Texas, where he is from when we met, and a couple years later he moved to Nashville for his music. So we made lots of weekend trips to visit each other. In 2010 We got engaged in North Carolina in the middle of a stream while exploring waterfalls! It was so romantic! And we were married outside on a beautiful, warm day in May 2011.

We have two biological children. They are incredible and we are so proud of them! In 2014 we were surprised to find out we were pregnant with our daughter. While that was not apart of our plan, she was and is such a beautiful gift. When she was almost two we began feeling the desire to add another baby to our family but we weren’t sure if it was the right timing.

We felt like the Lord was encouraging us to trust Him and go ahead and try and we got pregnant very soon after! In 2017 our son was born. Our kiddos are almost exactly 2 1/2 years apart and they adore each other.

Our story is very different than many who adopt, infertility has never been apart of our story. But we have always known we wanted 3 or 4 children, and we have always wanted to adopt. We have been feeling the desire to grow our family again and this time through the gift of adoption. Part of our reason why is because we believe we are called to it, and also because we have a strong desire to help women, children and families who need support. We believe that adoption is such a beautiful picture of what Jesus did for us – adopted us into the family of God. We have been blessed with so much and we have a lot of love to offer a child and a birth family!

Birth families, especially birth mothers, hold a very special place in our hearts. Whitney’s mom worked for Deaconess Adoption for nearly 30 years! Many of those years were spent working closely with birth moms. So Whitney grew up getting to know many of these incredible women, joining them on grocery runs, helping them move into new homes and even babysitting their children. She has witnessed the strength and selfless love that birth mothers possess. We also know the importance of the relationship between child and birth family. Whether it means phone calls, visits, or holidays spent together, we would like our future child to know his or her birth family in whatever capacity is comfortable. We know that through adopting a child we essentially adopt an extended family as well and we are excited at the thought!

Thank you again for learning about our family. We pray everyday for our future adopted child and their birth family, and we are praying for anyone reading this letter as well! May the Lord give you His strength, peace and protection. We completely believe that the Lord will form our family in a more beautiful way than we could ever imagine. We truly hope that you find the perfect family for you and your little one.

Love,

Clayton and Whitney
